This annual exhibition results from a competition open to photographers in Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Missouri & Colorado. This year, 549 photographs were submitted, with 150 selected for exhibition. Follow the link for images & info.

The Smoky Hill Art Exhibition was curated from an annual competition open to any Kansas artist. This year's juror was Stephen Gleissner who selected the 60 exhibited works from the 237 submitted, assigned the cash awards during his on-site visit following the exhibition's installation.
Open to 5th grade students in Ellis County public & private schools, this "living history" project promotes the use of research skills, awareness of, and appreciation for, the positive role models, thinking and writing in a creative manner, and developing acting and public speaking skills. The 1976 Swiss documentary on Hays, Kansas is now available for viewing, as is the 2015 sequel produced by one of the original filmmakers
