Five State Photography Exhibition
SUBMISSIONS NOW OPEN
Deadline: October 23rd.
This annual photography exhibition is the result of submissions by photographers in Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Missouri & Colorado.
The Five State Exhibition opens to the public each December as the anchor for the Winter Art Walk, which will be located at the Hays Public Library for 2026.
Block pARTy on the Bricks
Get ready to take over The Bricks for an afternoon of art, live music, food, drinks, and local creativity!
The Hays Arts Council’s 2nd Annual Block Party on the Bricks returns on October 24th — grab your friends, mark your calendar, and get ready to party for the arts!

A capital campaign is underway to renovate and expand the physical operations of the Hays Arts Council, which include the current Hays Arts Center building at 112 E. 11th and the HAC Annex at 1010 Main. For information on the project and ways to participate, follow the link below.
Smoky Hill Art Exhibition
The Hays Arts Council Annual Smoky Hill Art Competition & Exhibition is open to Kansas artists working in both 2-D and 3-D media.
For 2026, 60 out of 289 entries were selected by the juror, Hilary Cole, for exhibition in 2026 as the anchor of the Spring Art Walk.
Submissions closed until 2027.
