Jay and Leslie Cady (“Laughing Matters”) have been part of the Hays Arts Council’s annual arts-in-education programming for decades. . . the students love their presentations! Not being able to host them in person this year, the HAC has arranged for a series of educational and entertaining programs to be presented virtually in the 12 elementary schools we serve.
Full-time professional performing artists since 1980, Jay & Leslie have performed over 6,000 times in 36 states and 7 foreign counties! From the tropics of Guatemala to the rugged cold of Iceland, from busy London streets to the splendor of the Alps, Jay and Leslie performed their tricks for young and old alike. They took classes from the great mime, Marcel Marceau. They studied videos of classic comedy teams like the Smothers Brothers and George Burns & Gracie Allen.
These Kansas City artists are highly acclaimed, bringing a special brand of entertainment & education to their programs. . . outstanding entertainment, engagement, AND education . . . and it works for all the students!
We thank the Robert & Patricia Schmidt Foundation, Kansas Creative Arts Industries Commission and Hays Kiwanis Club for providing funding to make these programs possible for us in this very unusual year!
