FHSU Art & Design: Fortitude 2022

In the Department of Art and Design at Fort Hays State University, students and faculty engage with their creativity 24 hours a day,  7 days a week. They hone their artistic skills in a variety of different areas, including Art Education, Art History, Ceramics, Drawing, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, and Sculpture. Students work with great diligence to expand their knowledge of materials and art history, while also embracing creative play and experimentation. In this thought-provoking environment, students are given the opportunity to contemplate how art and design give shape to shared cultural values and day-to-day realities. At the same time, faculty members maintain their own pursuit of creative excellence in their studio practices and scholarly activities. Ultimately, FHSU Art and Design is a community founded on principles of mutual support and interdisciplinary exchange. During this challenging time, the talented artists and designers at FHSU have demonstrated both fortitude and persistence through their work, the most outstanding of which is on view in this exhibition.
